Barkemp were instructed as the Groundworks contractor by a major house builder for their site in Surrey in 2020. The site consists of 80 units with a mix of flats and houses in a semi-rural location. The development is located on the site of an old Victorian building, with houses designed to reflect the local surroundings.
Key area of work involved a complex foul and storm water drainage system, to deal firstly with the storage and removal of storm water off the site as well as the construction of a major foul water pumping station requiring a rising main to be built within a live carriageway of approximately 150m in length.
Barkemp are in the process of constructing piled foundations for all the units with associated drainage, roads, services and hard landscaping.
The site is due to be finished in June 2022.
